My mission is to make a difference in the world. This can be by giving someone confidence in their smile, the confidence in chasing their dream, or the confidence to get up on stage and share their journey to the world. I want to be the person who encourages change for the better in all facets of my life with gratitude for the passion I have found in my own journey.
My philosophy is simple- "treat others as you would want you or your family treated." This adage is what informs my every move as a dentist. I love the artistry of dentistry and being able to craft unique restorations that truly look natural, but what I love most is seeing my patients’ smile with confidence. That moment when they look at their restored smile for the first time is so rewarding and is what keeps me going. As a dentist, I try to make my patients smile and laugh whenever possible. Many patients feel a sense of guilt surrounding their oral health and I aim to crush these negative associations and replace them with new, positive ones. I love being able to empower my patients to take control of their oral health and think we should be able to have fun along the way. We even have an office dog, Auggie, who roams the operatory halls and sneaks in to give patients kisses.
Aadland Dental is my dream-practice come true. I had a hand in every inch of the practice from the relaxed, spa atmosphere to pushing the limits with our advanced technology. Whether it’s transforming someone’s smile and confidence or being a trustworthy friend when it comes to taking that first step towards great oral health, it’s my goal to be the absolute best dental practitioner I can be. With an emphasis on exceptional care, my compassionate team and I partner with our patients to help them achieve their smile goals. If you are interested in how you can follow my blueprint to make your own dream-practice (whether it has Tiffany blue walls or not) I am here to help you get your foot in the door.
If you’re like me, you’re probably a lifelong learner and feel that your education is never finished. With a field that is constantly evolving, it is important to continue to hone your skills and expand your knowledge. But, taking CE courses can sometimes feel like a daunting task. It can be draining to listen to countless hours of presentations while also juggling your personal life and professional career. I know that effective teaching goes beyond lecturing. That’s why I’ve helped create an inclusive, supportive, and empowering dental mentorship network that feels more like a group of friends getting together than a meeting in a stuffy classroom environment. By investing in the next generation of dentists, we can change the world one smile at a time. Join the movement and take your practice to the next level. Contact me today to learn more about hands-on training and CE courses through the Pathway.
It’s important to give back. As dentists, we are very fortunate to have amazing lifestyles, and donating our time and our skills is just one simple way we can show our gratitude to our community. Before we were dentists, we were patients too and we all remember how daunting it can be to take that first step. Anxiety, negative past experiences, and finances can all hold someone back from getting the care they need. That’s why at our live training events, we don’t stop at offering free preventive and diagnostic work. We actually deliver complete smile transformations with expert restorative and cosmetic treatments. You’ll be learning about CEREC and surgical implant placements while restoring someone’s confidence and smile.
I spent the first years of my life as an employee running heavy construction equipment on large job sites, often being the only woman. It never bothered me to be “one of the guys” and when I showed up as a dentist to meetings and was the minority gender, I was comfortable with that and my first instinct was to be proud. At least until I realized that sometimes that island got lonely. There are differences between what I was going through with my practice then what some of my male colleagues were going through. It’s not a bad thing. I believe we can learn from the differences, and celebrate the differences. I began to meet more women (who I was initially terrified of) who had similar stories, with just a slightly different version. I wanted these women to get to know each other, collaborate, and not see each other as competition. This is where I knew effective change could be made. It’s no secret that when you attend dental meetings, the podiums tend to be dominated by men. Let’s be honest, they were willing to step up there and I certainly was not. Then the light clicked, if I wasn’t willing to step up there, why should I be upset if my female colleagues weren’t as well. I stepped up. I was terrified. I survived. And each time I got asked after that it got easier and easier. It turns out that I love to share information to better our industry and my goal is to promote and encourage women to step into leadership positions within dentistry because we are different and that is ok to share why we do what we do, sometimes a little differently, and celebrate it!
